Basic Tracking

A simple tracker, backed by Heidi. I am moving, I am not moving: that is all it reports, and that is where its name comes from. A heartbeat every 2 hours, 3 to 5 years of life on three AA cells.

The Basic Tracking protects what has value and can disappear: car, tractor, trailer, quad, generator, site equipment. It sleeps most of the time, sends a heartbeat every 2 hours, and wakes the moment anyone touches it.

Simplicity is complex.

Today it covers theft alerts. Tomorrow Heidi takes over: hide your device and let it be. One instruction typed in the chat, or spoken aloud, and Heidi handles everything on her own. This innovation is coming, it will be rolled out in the app.

It also carries a Bluetooth radio. Paired with wireless sensors, temperature, humidity, level, opening, this small device takes on big capabilities: it relays their readings to your app, and Heidi reads them. That range is in development and will grow over the months.

Offered for purchase, with a mandatory annual subscription for 4G connectivity and access to the écho app. Pricing and terms in the Order section.

The device

Discreet, rugged, frugal, the Basic Tracking works where you forget it: in a trailer, under a hood, in a technical room, on a farm machine.

It sleeps most of the time and only wakes when it needs to. That is what gives it three to five years on three AA cells, replaceable on site.

4G LTE-M technology and Bluetooth
  • Heartbeat every 2 hours, position, battery status and local climate conditions
  • Instant wake-up on movement, notification with the new position, that is the anti-theft function
  • Bluetooth gateway up to 200 m, one gateway relays several sensors
  • Internal memory, no data lost off network
  • 3 to 5 years of battery life, on three AA cells replaceable on site
  • Single housing, 81 g, 110 x 75 x 30 mm, IP67 certified, waterproof to 1 m

Hide it, Heidi takes care of the rest

The Basic Tracking does not think, it reports. Heidi does the thinking for it. You tell her, in one sentence, what you expect: warn if the tractor moves at night, watch the trailer over the weekend, report the cold room temperature. Heidi programs, monitors and talks to you when needed. You have nothing to set up.

This assistance is coming to the écho app. The tracker itself does not change: it stays the same small, discreet device, hidden where you put it.

Three AA Energizer Ultimate Lithium cells This model delivers the stated three to five years, depending on network coverage, the number of wake-ups and the number of sensors to scan. Any other cell, standard alkaline in particular, cuts battery life by 30 to 40 %.

Twelve heartbeats a day at rest, plus an immediate notification on every movement detected. The nearby Bluetooth sensor data travels up in the same message.

What to use it for

One use available today, a second one being built.

Anti-theft for vehicles and equipment

Car, tractor, trailer, quad, loader, generator, machine tool, container, site equipment. Any valuable kit you want back after a theft, or simply want to locate. That is what the device does today.

Smart farming gateway

Set down in a barn, a technical room, on a round vehicle or at a fixed post, it collects the data of the Bluetooth sensors around it. The sensor range is in development.

Bluetooth companions

Here are the wireless sensors that talk to the Basic Tracking. It is a young range, in development: it grows with partnerships and in-house work. To know what is available today, contact us or go through the Accessories section.

Temperature sensor Continuous ambient temperature measurement. Storage monitoring, barns, technical rooms, cold rooms.
Humidity sensorComing Humidity monitoring for forage and grain storage, or for animal welfare conditions in buildings.
Level sensorComing Water tanks, drinkers, silos, fuel tanks, milk tanks.
Opening sensorComing Detection of a door, gate, hood or boot opening. Perimeter security.
Other sensorsComing A wide range is being integrated. If you have a specific need, get in touch, we can look at integrating third-party sensors.

Installation guidance

The device is fixed by its plate, two screws on the battery side. That keeps it removable for a battery change. It goes indoors, hidden in a vehicle, under a hood, in a cab or a room, as well as outdoors, its housing protects it.

  • Anti-theft use, hide the device, somewhere out of sight but open to the sky: under a seat, in a boot, under a tarp
  • Gateway use, place it centrally, in the middle of the area to cover, up to 200 metres around

Avoid closed metal enclosures: they cut both 4G and Bluetooth.
